Position description
The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department
of Emergency Medicine is conducting a faculty search for emergency
medicine physicians as Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in
either a clinician/educator (HSCP) or clinician/researcher (ClinX)
track.
Requirements include MD/DO degree or equivalent, ABEM Board
Certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine, valid
California Medical License or eligibility for licensure, experience
teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, the ability to
work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment,
and the ability to adhere to policies and procedures. Fellowship
training with at least one year of post-training clinical
experience is desired. We especially welcome applicants whose
research, teaching, and community outreach demonstrably attest to
their commitment to diversity and inclusion of historically
marginalized communities into their respective area of
specialization within their discipline.
The Emergency Department provides comprehensive emergency services
to a large local urban and referral population as a Level One
Trauma Center, paramedic base station, and training center. The
fully accredited residency training program in Emergency Medicine
at UC Davis Medical Center began in 1990 and currently has 60
residents. In addition, we have 11 fellowships covering a wide
range of disciplines. All faculty members are required to provide
both bedside and didactic teaching to residents, medical students,
and others rotating through the Emergency Department. We are a
top-20 NIH funded Department and member of the federally funded
SIREN (adults) and PECARN (children) research networks, and very
involved and committed to research, discovery and implementation.
The successful candidate will show a commitment to educating and

enhance personal growth, retention, and academic success.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
M.D. degree or equivalent
Valid CA Medial License or eligible
Board Certification/Eligibility in Emergency Medicine
Experience teaching medical students, residents and fellows
Experience or ability to work cooperatively and collegially within
a diverse environment
Experience or ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required,
qualifications for the position)
Fellowship training with at least one year of post-training
clinical experience is desired.
